First of 64-bit Windows 8.1 tablets comes, this one from HP

Hewlett-Packard is one of the first to offer 64-bit interface on Windows 8.1 with a product using Intel's newest Mobile processer. But others will follow.

On Weekend, Hewlett-Packard declared the HP ElitePad 1000 (PDF), which it explains as the "redesigned and improved 64-bit HP ElitePad." That product, starting at $739, will be available in Goal.

The ElitePad sports a quad-core Bay Pathway processer, Qualcomm Gobi 4G LTE, 64GB or 128GB of storage space, and a 10.1-inch 1,900x1,200-megapixel show.

And Dell will move out modified Location tablets with 64-bit method switched on, Dell informed CNET recently.

To date, Windows tablets depending on Intel's newest -- and remodeled -- quad-core 64-bit Atom processer from HP, Dell, Lenovo, New laptop, Acer and others have run in 32-bit method.

One of the most oft-cited factors for going 64-bit is to deal with more storage space, beyond the 4GB restrict that's common for 32-bit programs. But there are other factors too.

"The stress for 64 bit is pretty powerful because IT companies want to standardize on 64-bit pictures and 64-bit programs," Nathan Brookwood, major specialist at Understanding 64, said in an meeting recently.

There are a few Apple Haswell-based laptop-tablet compounds, such as the Area Pro 2 and certain Dell Location 11 Pro designs. Those gadgets already run in 64-bit method but they are designed to be more laptop than product and generally are large and dense, forcing the limitations of what is considered a product design.

The competition to 64 bit in Mobile phones has taken on new emergency after Apple declared the 64-bit A7 processer energizing its iPhone 5S, iPad Air, and iPad mini Retina last year.
