Amazon.com gets game studio Double Helix Games

Amazon has obtained separate activity studio room Dual Helix Activities, adding to rumours that the Internet store is preparing to enter gaming system space sometime this season.

Representatives for Amazon and Dual Helix Activities verified the purchase for CNET after an initial review by TechCrunch. Terms of the deal were not revealed.

"Amazon has obtained Dual Helix as part of our ongoing dedication to build innovative games for customers," Amazon said in a declaration.

Founded in 2007 through the merging of two Foundation 9 companies -- The Combined and Bright Enjoyment.-- the Irvine, Calif.-based organization has about 75 employees. The organization's reputation extends back nearly 20 years, with games from the original companies including oldies such as Earthworm Jim, Compromise, In Jackson and the Emperor's Grave, Star Conflicts Show III: Vengeance of the Sith, and Buffy the Creature of the night Slayer.
More recently, the organization produced fighting activity Fantastic Intuition for Windows Xbox One gaming system.

Amazon has been said to be working on an Android-based system for months. But the purchase comes per 7 days after a review that Amazon plans to release a gaming system later this season that will run on Android operating system and allow for both loading and installing games. VG247 revealed a couple weeks ago that Amazon has been showing marketers popular Android system and iOS games as routines for a system that will release for less than $300.
