Google planning to update Glass from Android system 4.0.3 to 4.4

February has come and gone, and many Google Glass Adventurers were left thinking what occurred to the per month update pattern Google guaranteed when the Traveler Program was declared. It changes out Google has moved its viewpoint away from conference a per month due date and more towards reaching bigger objectives. First on the list is updating Glass from Ice Lotion Food to KitKat, which is a very great thing for Glass customers.

Google’s per month update guarantee was never a wise decision long lasting. It is fun to know that once a month there is going to be something new to play with on your wearable computer, and that speed probably suitable Google when originally trying to entice an viewers. At this point, however, the advertising obtained by minimal function up-dates and the periodic app or three is in risk of being stunted by the understanding that the system is in need of more important changes.

On Feb 28, a publish showed up on the associates only MyGlass Community describing that there would be no Feb update. Glass customers have been operating edition XE12 since Dec, and although it involved features that were designed for the Jan update, people were desperate to see XE13.

The publish described that the update would be late, and that it would contain a edition update to KitKat. While some customers reacted seriously, thinking why Google patiently waited until the very last moment to describe this, there is a lot of customers completely good with patiently waiting and experiencing the advantages of the update.

Pushing Glass to Android system 4.4 is a big deal for several reasons. The first, and likely most important, is the benefit obtained from KitKat’s capability to run well even on smaller components. Since the processer in Glass is only operating at 1GHz with 1GB of RAM, Android system 4.4 should allow Glass to run better and offer more versatility to designers.

Moving away from Android system 4.0.3 also means that Wireless Low Energy support will be significantly enhanced, which will certainly mean better battery power when connected straight to your phone. There’s possibly some additional advantages that could be found in changing Glass to the ART system instead of Dalvik playback, but we will not know until Google produces the update whether or not Glass will be using that operate.

The Glass group has not provided a period of time for this update, but it was clarified it will be available sometime soon. Google’s update pattern for Glass is unique at best, so there is no real way of understanding when they are going to force this update out.

There’s a excellent possibility Google will have a new trend of applications patiently waiting on this update as well, so when it falls there is going to be a lot of new things to do. All we have to do now is delay.
