Nokia Lumia 525 takes a low-key street to Windows Phone 8 (hands-on)

You may be amazed, but the budget-friendly Nokia Lumia 520 is actually one of the best-selling devices for the Windows phone 8 system. Released just a few periods ago, the Lumia 525, the 520's heir, is now formal. It will be available in Singapore on Dec 14 for S$249 (US$198), one period of time as its bigger, more costly relative, the Lumia 1520.

Design

The Lumia 525 stocks the same style visual as other Lumia devices. If you like how the Lumia 1020 looks, the 525 is a compact sized edition, with the same shiny yellow-colored back. Compared with the 1020, though, the 525's back protect and 1,430mAh battery energy are exchangeable. If you don't like yellow-colored, there's a option of four other protect shades you can exchange in: blue, red, white, and black.

The quantity musician, energy, and digicam control buttons are situated on the remaining side; the Micro-USB port is situated at the end. It functions a 5-megapixel digicam, but take observe that the price range device does not have a display.

I wasn't too satisfied with the display, which is a 4-inch IPS show with a quality of 800x480 p. I especially wasn't satisfied when it was placed next to the Lumia 1520. The show showed up submerged in, and not as vivid. That said, you can use the show with your claws or when dressed in safety gloves.

Features

While the Lumia 525 has the same specifications as the Lumia 520,Nokia has improved it with twice the RAM. It now has 1GB, which should help with multi-tasking. The smartphone comes with 8GB of on board storage space, and has a microSD cards port for expandability.

The Lumia 525 is operated by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processer, and will release with the Nokia Lumia Black upgrade program, such as the newest edition of Windows phone 8.

Other free applications consist of Here Charts, Here Generate, and Here Transit;Nokia says Transport now performs for community transit in Singapore, though real-time bus periods are still being proved helpful on.

Don't anticipate the outstanding picture expertise of the higher-end Lumia devices, but the 5-megapixel digicam of the 525 should be able to do well in shiny sunlight. As said before, there's no display, so if you need to mild up your topic, you're out of fortune.

Outlook

Priced at a really cost-effective S$249, the Lumia 525 should offer as well as the 520. I'm not too assured if this is the best way to encounter the Windows phone system, however, but it looks like I'm likely to be incorrect about this given how well the 520 has been doing. Besides Singapore, the Lumia 525 will be available in Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.
